"Arrivals Tunnel"
Artist Leni Schwendinger was commissioned by the Denver International Airport's Public Art Program to create a light installation in the mile long underground people mover tunnel. This project took 3 years to complete. The commission required the artist to fabricate and install the art work. Lander was the Design Director and Lighting Designer on this project.
An industrial grade computer controls the lighting sequences as a train navigates the tunnel. Photoelectric sensors are activated when a train approaches a section of the tunnel. Lighting fixtures illuminate sculpture by Schwendinger.
